Aisha Sheikh
Designer, Strategist, Educator, Entrepreneur

I research markets, develop strategies, and create visual designs to tell compelling stories about an idea, product or service.

Hi, I'm Aisha.

I’m a designer who uses research, and strategy to implement intuitive experiences.

I've been building brands, and developing a methodology that equips you with strategic business insights and solutions. I enjoy giving keynotes, master classes, synthesizing workshops, and have taught seven semester long design classes at The Nueva School. I've built three startups (Thriver - a savings platform for independent workers, and Simplexity for design sprints, and Liminal Creative - a freelance collaborative). I'm also a design advisor to startups.

I began my career working at a couple of design studios and an agency in Toronto. Curious about the world, I decided to freelance as a graphic designer while traveling abroad to London. In 2011 I moved to Jordan and worked with a data visualization startup as a design researcher and as a design director for a non-profit in the emerging markets of Middle East & North Africa and Kenya. I've now bridged these networks while working in Silicon Valley as a designer and educator for the last four years.

I have a Bachelors of Design (Graphic Design) from OCAD University and received a Masters of Architecture (Urban Design & Housing) from McGill University. I'm a co-ambassador of Sandbox Global, a global community of entrepreneurs; a recipient of The Coaching Fellowship – executive leadership coaching for female leaders; and was one of 90 fellows of Singularity University Global Solutions Program and Incubator– based at NASA Ames, where I focused on exponential technologies.
